Privacy policy
your privacy, cared for.
Last updated: 3 October 2026
This policy explains how A. Marthe Weddings collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit this website, get in touch or book my services, and the rights you have under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Who I am
A. Marthe Weddings is a wedding content creation business based in London, run by Alba Marthe. I am the "controller" of your personal data, which means I decide how and why it is used. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, email me at hello@amartheweddings.com.
What I collect
When you enquire through the form on this website, by email or by direct message: your names, email address, wedding date, venue or location, number of guests, how you found me, the collection you're interested in and anything you choose to tell me about your day.
When you suggest a blog topic: who you are (for example, a bride or a wedding business), your idea and, only if you choose to give it, your email address.
When you book: the details needed for your agreement and your wedding, such as names, contact details, billing and payment records, your timeline, suppliers, preferences and any notes you share while we plan together.
On the day: the photos and videos I capture, which show you, your family and your guests.
Please only share what's needed. If you tell me about anything sensitive (for example, health or religious details that matter for your ceremony), I'll use it only to plan and capture your day as you'd like.
How and why I use it
I only use your data for clear reasons, each with a legal basis:
- To reply to your enquiry, check availability and prepare a quote — because you asked me to, as a step before entering into a contract.
- To plan, capture and deliver your wedding content — to perform our contract.
- To keep accounts and business records — to meet my legal obligations (for example, tax law).
- To read and reply to blog suggestions, and to run and protect this website — my legitimate interests in running my business, which I balance against your rights.
- To share your content on my website, Instagram or other social media — only with your permission. You can change your mind at any time and I'll stop using it for new posts.
- To email you when a blog post you suggested is published — only if you gave me your email for that.
I never sell your data, and I never use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
Who I share it with
I only share your data with trusted services that help me run my business, and only as much as they need:
- Google (Google Workspace / Google Sheets) — the forms on this website save your message in my private Google spreadsheet and send me an email alert, so I can keep track of every enquiry and reply to you. Google may store this data on servers outside the UK.
- IONOS — hosts this website.
- Dropbox — stores and delivers your content to you through a private folder.
- My email provider — to send and receive emails with you.
- Google Fonts — provides the typefaces on this website, so your browser connects to Google's servers, which see your IP address.
- My accountant, bank and payment providers — when you book and pay.
- Your planner, venue or other suppliers — only when you ask me to coordinate with them.
I may also share data if the law requires it.
International transfers
Some of these services store or process data outside the UK (for example, in the United States or the European Economic Area). When that happens, your data is protected by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or equivalent contractual protections in the provider's data processing terms.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries that don't become a booking: up to 12 months after our last contact.
- Booking, contract and payment records: 6 years after your wedding, as required for tax and legal purposes.
- Your delivery folder: available for a full year after your wedding, after which I may delete it. Please download and save your content within that time.
- Content shared on my website or social media: until you ask me to remove it.
- Blog suggestions: up to 12 months, or until the post is published and I've let you know.
Cookies
This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. If that ever changes, I'll update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Your guests
Your guests will naturally appear in the content I capture. If a guest would prefer not to be filmed, or not to appear in anything I share publicly, just let me know before or on the day, and they can also contact me directly.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data I hold about you;
- ask me to correct anything that's wrong or incomplete;
- ask me to delete your data;
- ask me to restrict how I use it, or object to me using it;
- ask for your data in a format you can take elsewhere;
- withdraw your permission at any time, where I rely on it.
Some rights depend on the reason I hold your data (for example, I must keep certain records for tax). To use any of them, email hello@amartheweddings.com. I'll reply within one month, and it's free.
Keeping your data safe
I use secure, reputable services, private delivery links and password-protected devices and accounts, and I only keep what I need.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, please tell me first and I'll do my best to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
